Other times it may be a smaller district race that rarely makes headlines but will still shape decisions about schools, infrastructure, taxes, or local development.

By narrowing the lens to one candidate and one community at a time, we hope to bring readers closer to the choices appearing on their ballots. Who are these candidates? What experiences shaped their views? What problems are they trying to solve? And what kind of leadership do they hope to bring to the communities they serve?
